Birds of Europe offers a comprehensive collection of data, featuring information on 360 bird species native to Europe, accompanied by over 1,000 photographs and 337 distinct sounds. Similar to the "Wild Flowers" guide, this application functions as a practical field reference, facilitating efficient identification of bird species across the continent.

All data is accessible offline, eliminating the need for an internet connection during fieldwork. An intuitive assistant tool allows users to refine searches based on criteria such as color, beak shape, or size, thereby narrowing down potential species and occasionally enabling direct identification.

For each species, the app provides between one and four photographs, alongside audio recordings of their calls or songs. The detailed species profile includes:

• General information encompassing diet and behavior
• Identification features based on plumage
• Habitat preferences
• Nesting habits, including period, number of eggs, and coloration
• Biometric data such as size, weight, migratory status, taxonomic order, and family
• Distribution maps illustrating geographic presence
• IUCN Red List status and estimated population size

Users can search for species via multiple methods:

• By common or scientific name
• By family and species name
• By logical groups with respective names (all entries in English or Latin)
• Through personal notes
• By favorite species list

The application allows adding personal notes to each bird profile. These notes can be exported or imported across devices through the "Help -> Export" feature, supporting data management and continuity in field research.

An organizational feature enables users to compile and review selected species via a favorites list or compare different birds to assist in identification or further study.

Upcoming updates promise to include additional species and expanded song recordings, enhancing the resource’s breadth and utility as a field guide.
